Features an ageless appeal
This somber and sophisticated antique ring is made in solid 18K gold of a rich, deep yellow hue. A piece that is exemplary of Victorian "mourning" jewellery--that is, jewellery worn during the bereavement period that followed the death of a loved one--it is painted in fine black enamel. It is growing exceedingly difficult to find mourning pieces of this age with their enamel as intact as the enamel on this ring; it is not perfect, but it's in excellent condition commensurate to its age. The compartment underneath the bezel might have once contained a momento, but it is empty now. Hallmarks date this ring to London, England, 1874. Please note evidence of antique resizing at the base of the band.
